Responsibilities Position Purpose: The Global Travel Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a company’s global travel strategy, ensuring cost efficiency, traveler satisfaction, policy compliance, and operational excellence across all regions. This role oversees all aspects of corporate travel—including air, hotel, ground transportation, payments, data reporting, risk management, and supplier partnerships—and serves as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, travel management companies (TMCs), technology partners, and travel suppliers. Key Responsibilities Strategic Program Leadership Develop and execute a global travel strategy aligned with company objectives, financial goals, and employee experience expectations. Own the global travel policy; Finance, Legal, and HR to ensure alignment, compliance, and continuous improvement. Drive adoption and optimization of travel technology platforms (e.g., Spotnana, Concur, SAP/Workday integrations, OBT configuration, virtual card solutions). Lead global initiatives including program consolidation, supplier optimization, expansion into new markets, and implementation of new tools and automation. Lead regional travel bookers, updates, escalations, feedback Drive reporting requirements, analyze costs, consolidate recommendations and changes applicable with summary slide decks for Exco to review quarterly Track corporate milage, schemes, refunds, air-miles to ensure these are received back, applied correctly to achieve optimum costs and utilization of our programmes. Supplier & Contract Management Negotiate global and regional agreements with airlines, hotels, car rental companies, distribution partners, and virtual payment providers. Manage RFP processes for air and hotel programs—sourcing, benchmarking, evaluation, award decisions, and annual rate loading. Monitor supplier performance, SLAs, and program value (discounts, amenities, rebates, volume commitments). Maintain strong relationships with key industry partners and escalate issues when necessary. Operational Excellence & Traveler Experience Oversee the performance of the Travel Management Company (TMC) and ensure efficient booking, fulfillment, ticketing, servicing, and VIP support. Lead troubleshooting for escalations, disruptions, payment failures, ticketing errors, or system outages. Optimize workflows such as approval processes, unused ticket management, trip templates, event travel, and special traveler populations (interns, candidates, VIPs). Promote an excellent traveler experience through education, communication, and tools that support personalization and ease of use. Risk Management & Duty of Care Partner with Security and HR to ensure traveler safety and risk preparedness. Support global crisis response with our Business Resiliency team, including traveler tracking, communication, and contingency planning with . Ensure compliance with regional regulations (e.g., GDPR, tax implications, visa/immigration guidelines). Financial Management & Reporting Own the travel budget, forecasting, and cost-savings initiatives. Implement and optimize payment solutions (virtual cards, lodge cards, UATP, direct bill). Oversee reconciliation processes, financial controls, and audit readiness. Develop dashboards and KPIs: spend analytics, savings performance, supplier utilization, traveler behavior, OBT adoption, policy compliance. Stakeholder Management & Communication Build trusted advisor relationships with senior leadership, business units, and global offices. Communicate program updates, policy changes, performance insights, and strategic recommendations. Lead cross-functional information share and meetings with Finance, Corporate Services, HR, IT, and Legal. Ensure consistent, scalable processes across all global regions. Team Leadership Manage travel operations staff, program coordinators, or vendor support teams across multiple regions. Provide training, coaching, performance evaluations, and career development opportunities. Qualifications Qualifications 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in corporate travel management, global mobility, procurement, or travel operations. Deep knowledge of the global travel ecosystem (air/GDS, NDC, hotel distribution, TMC operations, virtual payments, OBTs). Experience with contract negotiation, RFPs, and supplier management. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with travel reporting tools and dashboards. Experience with Workday, SAP, Spotnana, Concur, or similar systems preferred. Excellent communication, relationship management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Global mindset with experience operating across regions and time zones. Success Indicators Increased traveler satisfaction and adoption of the travel platform.
