About the Team
As a key pillar of ByteDance’s global procurement org, Vendor Management team is responsible for end-to-end supplier lifecycle management ranging from onboarding to phase-out. Our main roles include but aren’t limited to review of supplier management policies and guidelines, supplier information and risk management, and supplier portal function improvement. Responsibilities
1. Develop global supplier management strategies in line with business development needs based on the company’s strategy plan and by studying cutting-edge trends and the best practices in the procurement industry. Build a supplier lifecycle and risk management mechanism that meets the development needs of the company.
2. Responsible for the management of suppliers’ main data at the company level, ensuring clear data sources and the authenticity, accuracy, and uniqueness of the data.
3. Work closely with production and R&D, and data analysis teams to participate in the entire process of supplier management products from research, design to landing and operation. Improve the efficiency of the purchasing organization and management and optimize the functions of the supplier management platform through productization and develop optimization plans.
4. Develop, update and publish supplier management norms simultaneously based on business scenarios.
Minimal Qualifications
1. Analytical and problem-solving skills: Capable of analyzing data regarding vendor performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement or risk mitigation, and developing strategies to address challenges that may arise in managing global vendors.
2. Project management skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, set clear goals and deadlines, and allocate resources will be essential in this role.
3. Vendor management know-how: A solid understanding of vendor management processes, including sourcing, contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and relationship management.
4. Communication skills: When working globally with vendors from different countries or cultures, it is important to be culturally sensitive and adaptable to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
5. Leadership skills: You should have strong leadership abilities to guide and motivate a diverse team of vendor managers across different regions.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or a relevant field.
2. Experience working in a matrix multinational organization with good insights into the tech industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, best practices, and market trends across different regions.
4. Able to travel internationally on a regular basis.
5. Professional certifications in procurement (such as CSCP, CPM, CPP).
