Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Material Prep & Loading: Locate and load proper stock in preparation for operation.
  • Make-Ready & Setup: Prepare make-ready, feeder, pre-fold, glue system, final fold, delivery, stacker, and pack station.
  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate the folder/gluer per customer specifications and current SOPs; feed machine with raw materials.
  • Quality & Efficiency: Ensure maximum efficiency and total quality throughout the run, in accordance with customer specifications; control line integrity (line clearance) to prevent product mix.
  • Run Performance: Maintain machinery at optimum speed; detect causes of malfunctions and make adjustments quickly.
  • Delivery & Compliance: Ensure on-time product delivery; control non-conforming product and overage per procedure.
  • Recordkeeping: Record production/operational data (materials processed, make-ready time, production time).
  • Material Handling: Transfer materials/products to and from machinery using industrial trucks or hand trucks.
  • Housekeeping & Care: Maintain machine and area for cleanliness and organization.
  • Process Support: Add chemicals, solutions, or ingredients to machines as required by the manufacturing process.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform troubleshooting and regular maintenance as required.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the crew working on the machine; train coworkers to set up, operate, and use equipment.
  • Technical Input: Act as a technical resource for new product development using in-depth knowledge of machine capabilities.
  • Policies & Safety: Follow all SOPs, policies, work instructions, and safety/environmental guidelines.
  • Other: Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience operating Bobst folder/gluers.
  • Technical: Basic computer knowledge; mechanically inclined.
  • Carton Pack: Carton pack experience required.
  • Skills: Good math skills and time management.
  • Instructions: Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Teamwork/Independence: Able to work independently or with others in a production environment; willingness to help others as necessary.
  • Work Ethic: Punctual, reliable, and dedicated.
  • Judgment: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • PPE: Must own safety shoes.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly lift up to 20 lbs; periodically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending, squatting, walking, and standing for the duration of the shift.
  • 20/20 vision (with or without prescription glasses); strong attention to detail.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills for repetitive motions.
