Description Plaisted Companies, Inc., the soil experts, is seeking a dynamic Golf Course and Sports Field Soils Specialist to join the team. In this role, you’ll use your golf industry experience to connect courses and turf professionals with high-quality sands, soils, and specialty materials that improve course performance and playability. This position is heavily focused on the golf industry, with a smaller portion supporting sports fields and related turf markets. We are especially interested in candidates with Golf Superintendent experience who understand real-world course conditions and customer needs. Key Responsibilities Product Knowledge Expert: · Develop in-depth knowledge of Plaisted golf course materials, including sands, root zones, soil blends, and specialty products. · Stay current on golf course maintenance practices, construction trends, and turf performance standards. · Maintain a working knowledge of sports field materials and applications (secondary focus). · Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by recommending the right products for performance, durability, and long-term results. Business Development and Customer Service · Engage with golf course superintendents, owners, builders, and turf managers to assess needs and recommend solutions. · Build and maintain strong relationships within the golf industry to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships. · Identify and develop new opportunities within golf courses and sports fields. · Actively prospect new leads while growing existing accounts. · Provide product samples, jobsite support, and technical guidance to customers. · Represent Plaisted Companies at trade shows, field days, and industry events. Responsibilities
