We believe honest, long-lasting relationships with our guests, employees, neighbors, and our surrounding environment allow us to grow our business. ---------------------------------------- POSITION OVERVIEW Shanty Creek Resorts is seeking a motivated and service-oriented Golf Operations Intern to support the daily operations of our golf facilities. This internship provides hands-on experience within the hospitality, tourism, and recreation industries, with a strong focus on golf operations. The Golf Operations Intern will assist with guest services, event coordination, and facility management while working closely with experienced leaders in the golf division. This role is designed to develop practical business knowledge, operational awareness, and leadership skills to prepare candidates for future opportunities in hospitality, sports management, and recreation. ---------------------------------------- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist with daily golf operations, including tee time management and guest check-in * Provide exceptional customer service by responding to guest inquiries and resolving concerns professionally * Support planning and execution of golf tournaments, outings, and events * Maintain organization and cleanliness of the golf shop and surrounding areas * Collaborate with the Golf Operations team to promote programs, memberships, and events * Assist with merchandising, inventory organization, and retail presentation * Support operational logistics to ensure a seamless guest experience ---------------------------------------- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Hospitality Management, Recreation, Sports Management, or a related field * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Commitment to providing outstanding guest service * Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays ---------------------------------------- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Previous customer service experience, preferably in hospitality or recreation * Familiarity with golf operations, terminology, or playing experience * Interest in pursuing a career in golf management or resort operations ---------------------------------------- SKILLS & COMPETENCIES * Professional communication and guest engagement * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment * Adaptability in a fast-paced hospitality setting * Initiative and willingness to learn operational and business functions ---------------------------------------- WHY JOIN SHANTY CREEK RESORTS * Gain hands-on experience in a four-season resort environment * Learn from experienced golf and hospitality professionals * Build operational and leadership skills in a real-world setting * Work in beautiful Northern Michigan * Dorm housing available
