Job Details Job Location: Prospect Heights, IL 60070 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $28.00 - $30.00 Hourly Job Title: Mechanic Golf & Parks Maintenance, IMRF Part Time Department: Parks and Facilities Location: 205 S Wheeling Rd, Mount Prospect, IL 60056 1500 E Euclid Ave, Mount Prospect, IL 60056 Status: Part-time, IMRF, Non-Exempt Reports To: Superintendent of Golf & Grounds Manager Summary Performs mechanical and maintenance duties within the Park District Golf Course and Parks Department. Working hours typically Monday through Friday 6AM-2PM based on seasonal needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Repair and evaluate all vehicles and equipment Regular inspections and documentation of vehicles and equipment Fabrication of metal and fiberglass Responsible for ordering parts and supplies Maintain a clean and safe shop Knowledge of a variety of maintenance and manual tasks involved in the general upkeep, repairs, cleanliness, and overall aesthetics of equipment, buildings, and grounds. Washing vehicles and equipment Risk Management Actively supports and enforces the safety program instituted by the Park District Maintains a working knowledge of all general agency and department-specific safety rules Attends required safety program and in-service education meetings as directed Corrects unsafe conditions and/or reports them to your director supervisor Enforces safety disciplinary policies and procedures Uses material handling equipment or staff assistance when lifting and/or moving objects 50 pounds or heavier Uses protective gloves, masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to pathogens Additional Functions Performs other duties and functions as requested On call nights and weekends as needed Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois Driver’s License Must have the ability to operate equipment and tools safely and proficiently Must possess ability to work in team efficiently. Must possess customer service skills Must be able to pass a criminal background check Recommended Qualifications: Minimum 2 years’ experience in golf equipment maintenance Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 3 months of employment Be in good physical condition and must have the ability to handle strenuous and varied physical activity in all weather, including but not limited to, extensive lifting, standing, walking and climbing.
