Description St. Thomas More is seeking a faith-filled, mission-centered Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Coordinator to guide, form, and shepherd our Level I–III atria. Rooted in the life of the Church and the Montessori tradition, this ministry invites children into a profound encounter with the Good Shepherd. The coordinator will provide prayerful leadership, thoughtful organization, and pastoral care so that every child may grow in holiness, wonder, and intimacy with Christ through the CGS method. Job Description: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Coordinator Reports to: Director of Catechesis Hours and Pay: Part-time, non-exempt, $20/hour. An average work week of 20-25 hours with an expectation of work during CGS Sunday classes (8:30-11:30am), and Tuesday classes (4:00-6:30pm). Weekly hours can reach up to 40/week during high workload times. Requirements · Must have prior experience as a CGS catechist, preferably at least 3 years’ experience · Preferably certified and experienced as a catechist in Levels 1-3. · Desirable to have prior experience managing/coordinating a CGS program at the parish level. · Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043). · Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals. Essential Duties: · Order and make educational materials for catechesis classes and recruit volunteers to assist in this effort · Work with Office of Catechesis to plan and carry out required parental sacramental preparation meetings and retreats. · Provide information about CGS classes and registration through bulletin announcements. · Work in conjunction with other departments for CGS scheduling, specifically STM Youth Ministry. · Help set up and carry out sacramental celebration practices and masses for children in faith formation programs. Additional Responsibilities: · Coordinate with the Department of Catechesis to create a CGS budget and adapt as needed. · Provide service opportunities for parishioners and the greater community to help make catechetical educational materials. · Plan, purchase, prepare, and implement crafts during VBS. · Represent the Office of Catechesis during welcome breakfasts on occasion. · Staff the informational table in the narthex during catechesis registration weekends leading up to the start of the catechetical year. · Assist with any other large-scale Office of Catechesis events, if needed, as work schedule permits. · Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
