JOB SUMMARY

FDL is a family run Business within the Birmingham area that was established in 1948. FDL Produce heavy metal pressings and welded assemblies for the automotive, domestic and yellow goods industries.
FDL are seeking a Goods Inwards Operative to support our busy manufacturing facility.
Working within the stores area responsible to the Goods Inwards Team Leader, the role will require someone with excellent FLT skills in order to unload all in bound goods and distribute materials and parts safely and efficiently to all departments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous Goods Inwards / Stores experience is preferred, with a understanding of materials handling practices.
  • Ability to lift heavy items consistently throughout the shift.
  • Indoor and outdoor working required
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach to teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Valid forklift certification is required

  • Loading & Un-loading Vehicles
  • Checking delivery notes are correct
  • Distribution of material (packs of steel & steel Coils) to departments as required
  • Distribution of Work in progress parts (stored within stillages) to departments as required
  • Safe operation of Fork Lift Truck
  • Previous stores experience
  • Stocktaking of items as required
  • Adherence to labelling requirements
  • Operation of Scales
  • Safe and organised stacking
  • Tare weighting stillages
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
