Job Title: Google Ads Automation Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a Google Ads Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain advanced
automation solutions for our paid search campaigns. This role combines expertise in Google Ads,
scripting (JavaScript/Python), and data-driven marketing to optimize performance, improve
efficiency, and reduce manual effort. You’ll play a critical role in building scalable systems that keep
campaigns competitive, cost-efficient, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
1. Custom Google Ads Script Development
* Write, test, and maintain advanced Google Ads scripts (JavaScript; Python a plus) to automate
tasks such as bid adjustments, ad scheduling, keyword management, and anomaly detection.
* Develop budget pacing and monitoring scripts, ensuring campaigns stay within allocated spend
while maximizing ROI.
* Build integrations with Google Sheets, Looker Studio, or BI tools to automate dashboards and
reporting pipelines.
* Create alerting systems (e.g., email/Slack) to flag performance anomalies, budget overspend,
or policy violations.
* Ensure scripts are scalable and efficient, capable of handling multiple accounts and large
datasets.
2. Campaign Automation & Optimization
* Design and maintain API-driven workflows for campaign setup, monitoring, and optimization.
* Automate processes for audience targeting, ad copy testing, and conversion tracking.
* Conduct regular audits of automated systems to ensure compliance, accuracy, and alignment
with campaign goals.
3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
* Leverage automation to pull real-time performance data and translate it into actionable insights.
* Run automated A/B testing and experiments to continuously refine campaign strategies.
* Maintain clear documentation for all scripts and systems to ensure knowledge transfer and
reusability.
4. Innovation & Best Practices
* Stay updated with Google Ads Scripts updates, Ads API enhancements, and automation
trends.
* Research and implement cutting-edge automation techniques to improve efficiency and
performance.
* Act as a knowledge resource for the team, providing guidance on automation best practices
and scaling strategies.
Qualifications
Required:
* Strong experience with Google Ads Scripts (JavaScript essential; Python a plus).
* Hands-on experience with Google Ads API and campaign automation.
* Familiarity with Google Sheets, Looker Studio, or BI platforms for reporting automation.
* Solid understanding of PPC campaign structures, bidding strategies, and budget management.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design scalable automation workflows.
Nice-to-Have:
* Experience with other ad platforms (Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.).
* Knowledge of BigQuery, SQL, or data pipelines.
* Background in digital marketing, AdTech, or MarTech engineering.
* Familiarity with Slack/Email integrations for real-time alerts.
