Description:

Waracle are looking for a Google Analytics Analyst for an exciting new role joining our world-class digital technology consultancy and home to a diverse, smart, curious and ambitious community of specialists in technology-driven transformation.
We work with ambitious clients to help them solve their biggest business and customer challenges. We help our clients to innovate and create intelligent digital products and services. We thrive on complex challenges and deliver business-critical IT transformation projects, moving seamlessly from strategy, design and delivery to operations.
We are looking for a freelance Google Analytics Analyst to join our team 2 days per month.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in tracking, analysing, and reporting on user behaviour and engagement, leveraging Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and associated tools. You’ll be working closely with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights and optimise the user experience.

You’ll be expected to:

  • Set up and maintain data collection processes using GA4 to track user behaviour, acquisition, and engagement across web and app platforms.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and configuration of key performance indicators (KPIs) to align with project goals.
  • Utilise Google Tag Manager (GTM) to capture dynamic on-page elements and set up custom event tracking.
  • Design, implement, and test tags, triggers, and variables to capture meaningful data points.
  • Develop strategies for tracking SPAs, ensuring seamless event tracking and data integrity despite the unique challenges of single-page navigation.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to SPA tracking.
  • Navigate the Google Analytics interface to extract meaningful insights related to user acquisition, engagement, and behaviour.
  • Develop custom dashboards and reports to highlight key trends and metrics.
  • Set up, manage, and maintain Looker Studio reports to visualise data effectively.
  • Integrate multiple data sources into Looker Studio for a comprehensive view of performance metrics.
  • Work closely with developers, marketers, and stakeholders to ensure tracking aligns with business objectives.
  • Translate complex analytics concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM).
  • Strong understanding of tracking methodologies for dynamic web elements and single-page applications.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) reports.
  • Familiarity with acquisition, engagement, and conversion metrics within GA4.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain data insights to diverse stakeholders.

The recruitment process you can expect for this role is an initial call with your dedicated Talent Acquisition Partner who will chat with you about Waracle, the project, the day rate for the role and notice period (the important stuff!).
After that, you’ll be invited to a two-stage hiring process where you have an opportunity to find out more about the role and showcase your skills and experience. Your Talent Acquisition Partner will guide you through the whole process to your first day with us.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, gender, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
