Location: HMP Thameside Salary: Band 7 Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:30 We are seeking a Governance and Performance Administrator to join our Governance and Performance Team at HMP Thameside, London’s only private prison. Thameside is a modern facility, opened in 2012, and currently holds up to 1,232 convicted and remand male prisoners. Operated by Serco since day one, the prison plays a vital role in responding quickly and safely to the needs of the custodial population in the heart of the capital. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure the prison operates to the highest standards of governance, compliance and performance. You will work closely with the Governance and Performance Manager and other colleagues to ensure contractual, regulatory and operational requirements are consistently met. What you’ll do You will manage a wide range of administrative processes including performance data, incident reports, complaints, audits and compliance records. You will produce accurate reports to agreed timescales, support inspections and external audits, and build trusted relationships with both internal colleagues and external stakeholders such as HMIP, NOMS and the Independent Monitoring Board. What we’re looking for We are looking for someone with strong administrative experience and high levels of IT literacy. You will be confident using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and other digital tools, with the ability to think quickly and remain calm under pressure. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential, particularly the confidence to follow up with managers directly, whether in person or over the phone, to ensure tasks are completed. You should also bring strong time management, problem-solving ability and resilience, along with GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
