Salary: £16,703.78 per annum (based on 18 hours per week). Full Time Equivalent for this role is £34.313.31. Plus £4,427.00 Pro Rata London Allowance.
Contract Type: 9-month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Buckingham Road, London.
Employment Type: Hybrid- Blended approach of home and office-working is available

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for a Governance Audit and Compliance Officer to join the Governance Department. As a Governance Audit and Compliance Officer with BTP, you will produce insightful data reports to identify areas needing further investigation.
Your role will also involve supporting the daily operations of the B Division Governance Department, ensuring timely compliant and misconduct investigations, updating relevant systems, and aiding in the implementation of corporate governance standards for Property Stores. Additionally, you’ll help monitor information security and records retention across the Division.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR; YOUR ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Advanced Research & Analytical Skills; Trained and extensive experience in using Microsoft Office applications and the using different databases. Knowledge of data extract applications and Financial Reporting.

  • Excellent Communication Skills; Highly advanced written and verbal skills. Ability to produce diverse reports for varied audiences.

  • Teamwork & Initiative: Capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Skilled in liaising with internal and external contacts.
  • Prioritisation & Project Management; Excellent at managing time and workload. Effective project management skills.
  • Data Management: Ability to interrogate, develop and interpret data. Able to effectively display the result of analysis using a range of IT software, including charts, maps and graphs. Intermediate user of MS Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Design & Implement Reports; Create reports for the Head of Governance and B Division Governance Board. Focus on high-risk areas like overtime, expenses, and mileage.

  • Research & Data Analysis; Conduct thorough research and data analysis. Highlight areas of risk and subjects for further investigation.

  • Data Management: Audit data and create exception reports, investigate data inconsistencies, perform trend analysis.
  • Case Management Support: Collate progress updates from Investigating Officers, ensure adherence to statutory and internal timescales, escalate potential issues to the Governance Process Manager.
  • Compliance Monitoring; Implement processes for monitoring record retention and information security. Highlight compliance issues and report on recommendations for change. Compile accurate and timely reports from various BTP systems.
