The intensity of growth and investment in City of Parramatta means that Council, their partners, and community have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the City’s future and ensure it is culturally, socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.  About the role  This position is responsible for the management of Council’s delegations, registers and legislative compliance obligations, the public access to Council information in accordance with the Governance Information (Public Access) Act and privacy legislation, Council Policy framework and preparation, and the delivery of major governance related projects. On a daily basis you will:  *  Review and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.  * Deliver organisation-wide training on governance, policies, and legislative requirements.  * Manage Council’s legislative compliance obligations, delegations, and governance registers.  * Provide expert advice on governance, including GIPA, privacy, and access to information matters.  * Lead governance projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and reduce risk.   About You  The successful candidate should have contemporary knowledge and skills in legislative information access provisions including Local and State Government, GIPA and Privacy. You will also bring the below essential requirements: * Degree qualifications in business, policy, local government discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience. * Highly developed oral and written communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills, and experience in working with clients, management and staff at all levels. * Highly developed ability to manage confidential and sensitive issues, utilising discretion, tact and diplomacy. * Ability to interpret and determine legislative impacts in relation to corporate governance responsibilities.  *  Experience in preparing reports, policies and correspondence in a local government context  * Contemporary knowledge, understanding and skills in policy review and corporate governance principles.    What’s on offer We are offering a permanent full time opportunity with an attractive remuneration from $113, 019.51 plus 12% superannuation.
