Create your best future and join Westpac as a Governance Senior Manager, Group Investigations What’s the role?  As Governance Senior Manager, Group Investigations, you’ll provide independent governance and quality oversight across investigations into serious misconduct and whistleblower matters. You’ll oversee investigations across the full lifecycle - reviewing plans, conducting tactical quality checks during delivery, and ensuring matters are closed with evidence, approvals, and documentation that can withstand regulatory, audit, or court scrutiny. During peak periods or highly sensitive matters, you’ll also personally lead investigations end‑to‑end, applying strong investigative judgement alongside governance discipline. Operating within Group Investigations, this role balances hands‑on investigative capability with strong governance oversight, working closely with investigators, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Legal to ensure outcomes are fair, factual, consistent, and defensible. The role has no direct reports, with a dotted‑line leadership responsibility for the Governance Manager. This is a Permanent fulltime role based in Sydney with flexible working arrangements (3 days in office) What do I need?  * Strong experience conducting and overseeing investigations within financial services or another highly regulated environment * Demonstrated understanding of investigation methodologies, evidentiary standards, procedural fairness, and natural justice * Proven ability to provide independent governance, review, and challenge, while also leading investigations end‑to‑end when required * Experience developing or maintaining governance frameworks, policies, standards, and quality assurance processes * Strong judgement and stakeholder influence skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Legal * A curious, improvement‑driven mindset, with experience or interest in using analytics, automation, or AI to uplift governance and investigation practices Why join us?
