Responsibilities

THE ROLE

In this role you’ll be at the forefront of driving positive risk culture, and the cornerstone in ensuring seamless alignment across policies, procedures, databases, and reporting to support our Underwritten Workers Compensation and Distribution business. Working across multiple jurisdictions you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring the business remains compliant with regulatory requirements, while supporting strategic business objectives and positive customer outcomes.

YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Regulatory Database Management: Ensuring the regulatory database accurately captures all significant interactions with regulators in each jurisdiction. You’ll be responsible or maintaining up-to-date records and facilitating communications with regulatory bodies.
  • Regulatory and Legislative Monitoring: Managing changes in regulatory and legislative landscapes, keeping abreast of updates and ensuring timely submissions. You will act as a liaison within the Underwritten Workers Compensation and Distribution business as well as cross-divisionally to ensure compliance with new requirements.
  • Regulatory Levies Coordination: Supporting and coordinating regulatory levies by tracking obligations across jurisdictions, confirming calculations are correct, facilitating approvals, and ensuring payments are processed within specified timeframes.
  • Statutory Returns Process Management: Collaborating with Finance, Actuaries, and Analytics Teams to deliver annual statutory returns and monthly regulatory data submissions ensuring alignment between business operations and reporting.
  • Business Continuity Preparedness (BCP): Collaborating with the Enterprise Resilience Team to ensure the Underwritten Workers Compensation & Distribution BCP remains current, and the organisation is equipped to effectively respond to disruptions and notify regulators of BCP events.
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance: Monitoring and delivering business requirements related to governance, risk, and compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and frameworks, as well as industry best practice.
  • Project Management Support: Providing project management support as needed, including briefing notes and coordinating activities to drive successful outcomes.
