REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Law/Finance/Business/Economics
  • Two (2) years & above working experience in compliance, risk management, audit, or legal department in Financial Services Companies (preferably insurance) or experience as an external auditor
  • Good knowledge of regulations and legal requirements in the insurance sector, esp. in the areas of compliance and risk management
  • Good project management and process modelling skills/relevant experience
  • Independent and reliable worker with good stakeholder management capability
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

General

  • Keep informed of new/revised applicable law and regulations and perform impact analysis of these new/revised law/regulations to the business.
  • Identify business risks and advise management on any regulatory consequences.
  • Assist with the implementation of compliance policies and procedures including data protection obligations, AML/CFT obligations, sanction screening obligations and Company’s Code of Conduct
  • Conduct timely review of marketing/corporate materials (when necessary)
  • Assist with complaints investigation (when necessary)
  • Assist with market conduct investigation (when necessary)
  • Support in the review of outsourced services for ERGO Singapore and monitor the outsourcing arrangements.
  • Assist departments on compliance related advisory and to assist the departments to close recommendation/findings (if any) related to compliance domains.
  • Manage and monitor system of norms including supporting other departments if required
  • Manage/support (group-wide) governance (risk management/compliance) projects (e.g. ICS roll-out)
  • Support the Chief Risk Officer regarding specific topics (e.g. Third Party Risk Management)

Daily

  • Respond to compliance related queries from stakeholders.
  • Follow up with stakeholders on implementation measures.
  • Clearing of hits (both sanction and PEP) in Smaragd
  • Provide hit clearance and adhoc manual web check assistance to the departments

Monthly
Track the status of the compliance plan (including data protection plan) and AML plan with its monitoring control and ensure adherence to agreed timelines.

Annual

  • Assist to implement and monitor the local Compliance Plan (including data protection plan) and AML plan.
  • Work with management/Compliance Officer/Risk Manager to promote a culture of compliance across the organization and provide timely advice on the Company’s legal and compliance obligations in Singapore.
  • Assist to perform the compliance risk assessment analysis and to draft the compliance report.
  • Assist to perform the AML risk analysis assessment and to draft the AML activity report.
  • Review all legislative updates (including acts, regulations, standards) which could impact the company/business operations and providing timely advice to the management as appropriate.
  • Review relevant ERGO internal policies to ensure all internal policy requirements are understood by stakeholders.
  • Assist management/Compliance Officer/Risk Manager by providing effective monitoring systems to ensure stakeholders comply with legislative, compliance and internal policy requirements.
  • Assist to provide or coordinate the provision of compliance training to management and staff to address gaps/topical issues that may affect the Company or business operations.
  • Assist to perform annual review on outsourcing arrangements.
