Role Overview The Lead, Government Contracts role is responsible for managing and overseeing complex U.S. Government Prime contracts and subcontracts in support of aerospace and defense programs and also some commercial contracts. This role serves as a subject-matter expert on FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific requirements, providing strategic guidance to program management, pricing, supply chain, and senior leadership throughout the contract lifecycle. What You’ll Do... · Lead complex negotiations and develop contract management strategies to mitigate risk. · Ensure compliance with mandatory clauses including TINA, CAS, Truthful Cost or Pricing Data, cybersecurity, and export controls. · Act as primary contracts interface for assigned programs and customers and support change management including equitable adjustments, REAs, claims, and modifications. · Provide direction to team members to address and influence major contractual and business issues encountered in the proposal and execution of contracts of all types and complexity. · Provide day-to-day guidance to program managers on contractual obligations, scope changes, and performance risks. · Be innovative to develop solutions to complex contracting issues while ensuring solutions are consistent with organization strategic and operational objectives. · Support internal audits, DCAA/DCMA interactions, and corrective action plans. You have... · Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 8 years prior related experience or Juris Doctorate with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience · Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and U.S. Government contracting practices. · Experience with fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, and incentive-based contract structures. · Demonstrated experience negotiating directly with U.S. Government customers or prime contractors. · Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. · Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to fulfill obligations and commitments. · The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance Nice to have... · Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred. · Experience supporting classified or export-controlled programs (ITAR/EAR). · Familiarity with OTAs, CRADAs, and other non-FAR agreements. · NCMA certification (CPCM, CFCM, or CCCM).
