Responsibilities

YOUR SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides direction, guidance and technical assistance for workforce programs which includes the development of appropriate training and providing the training as needed.
Conducts research of federal and state statutes, regulations and other governing authorities to develop, review and update programmatic policies, procedures, guidelines, and state and local plans. Evaluates the impact of statutes, regulations and governing authorities on operations, identifies potential problems, and recommends appropriate action.
Provides guidance and assistance to agency management, program administrator and staff in the management and operation of programs and responsibilities. Consults with management on the development and implementation of training and technical assistance to improve workforce program outcomes.
Investigates, assesses, analyzes, and makes recommendation(s) to resolve issues and problems presented by management staff. Consults with staff members to develop solutions for programmatic operational problems.
Participates in quality assurance reviews, assists with or prepares reports, and follows up on concerns. Provides feedback on updating quality assurance tools, as needed. Participates in data validation on site reviews, as needed.

THE WORK YOU WILL DO:

The Government Operations Consultant II (Statewide Program Consultant – Welfare Transition) is a member of the Policy and Guidance Unit for the Welfare Transition (WT) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Employment & Training (E&T) programs within the Division of Workforce Services, Bureau of One-Stop and Program Support. This position conducts advanced-level professional work related to researching and writing policy and procedural guidance for Welfare Transition program operations; providing in-person and virtual training; responding to program related inquiries; and providing technical assistance regarding program requirements. The incumbent in this position is expected to function with a great deal of independence and high-quality organizational skills.
