REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and database systems; Knowledge of early intervention programs and service delivery systems for infants and toddlers and the continuum of care for children with special health/developmental needs. Skills in developing working relationships between policy level and direct service providers and to work effectively in a team centered environment. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, to prepare written material and to conduct oral presentations; facilitate community collaboration activities. Ability to travel. Preferred: Florida Medicaid knowledge/background as it relates to claims processing, CPT codes, and Fee Schedules. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in the broad field of human services, education, health, social work, psychology, sociology, public administration, or a related field; (relevant experience on a year-to-year basis can substitute for specific degree requirement).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsibilities:
This is a responsible professional position located in the Early Steps program. The incumbent in this position will require commensurate skills, professional judgment, and knowledge to provide coordination of activities related to the planning and implementation of a statewide system of local integrated prevention and early intervention services for children under three years old and their families. This system will address requirements of Part C of IDEA, Developmental Evaluation and Intervention under Chapter 391, F.S., and services under Chapter 393 F.S. The incumbent in this position will:
Lead and participate in teams conducting onsite and desk review monitoring of assigned Local Early Steps (LES) programs in the state to ensure compliance in carrying out federal and state requirements and positive outcomes for infant, toddlers and their families.
Review, evaluate, and track implementation of corrective action plans to ensure correction of any noncompliance identified through monitoring and complaint investigations as soon as possible and, within one year after identification of noncompliance.
Provides coordination, technical assistance, oversight of activities, and program management for assigned program.
Prepare written reports to assigned Local Early Steps programs to reflect the state’s findings and the outcome of monitoring activities and complaint investigations.
Coordinates with other agencies that provide services to infants, toddlers and young children, including, but not limited to the Agency for Healthcare Administration.
Performs other work-related duties as requested.
