Description
Work cross-functionally and closely with integrated teams in Manufacturing, Product Development, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales and Service. 1. Oversee and manage plant quality and operating systems, including developing and monitoring audit schedules (e.g., GRC, Finished Vehicle, Process, COP) to ensure mandatory process requirements and regulatory compliance for all markets. Monitor and manage MCIR/QLS processes, ensuring inspection items are captured and effectively documenting audit findings. Implement and verify containment actions for quality concerns, including Stop Ships and yard campaigns, reporting significant issues to management. Provide real-time quality feedback to departments and review compliance/error-proofing concerns from all audits. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies, validating regulatory items affected by engineering changes. Manage all aspects of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) compliance, including labeling, stamping, verification, depth validation, and record-keeping. Coordinate and represent the plant during investigations and reviews by external agencies (e.g., NHTSA, CARB, FBI, OGC) and internal company officials. Assure proper identification, organization, filing, and disposition of all GRC records. Review incoming material documents, test results, and equipment certifications, including witnessing critical process checks. Keep plant management informed of all pertinent compliance concerns. Support the Incoming Quality Organization regarding regulatory concerns from suppliers. Assist dealers with regulatory items, replacement VIN labels, and build information related to plant errors. Generate and present comprehensive reports on quality, compliance, and audit findings (e.g., CDC non-compliance, Finished Vehicle Audit findings, MCIR concerns, Process Audits, Fresh Eye concerns) to plant and corporate management. Process Improvement and Personnel Development: Ensure adherence to pre-delivery safety processes and relevant contractual agreements. Established and active employee resource groups Ensure regulatory compliance (FMVSS/CMVSS) for new models by confirming inspection items, auditing content, and managing pre-build and launch audits. Participate in new model launch meetings, coordinating and reporting on quality prevention processes (e.g., Campaigns Need Prevention, Fresh Eyes Review). Manage vehicle holds (e.g., 1 in 36, regulatory items, pre-Job-1 units) and ensure proper certification, exemption, and labeling before vehicle release. Verify emission certifications and ensure accurate updates to vehicle information systems for component variations. Provide support for added starters and bundled changes, including necessary vehicle holds and reviews. Bachelor's degree Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing quality or regulatory compliance. Familiarity with quality systems (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001), regulatory frameworks, and manufacturing operations. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Regulatory Affairs. Knowledge of Ford's QOS framework and Stop Ship processes. Six Sigma or Lean certification. Experience working with unionized workforces.
