Position Overview The Government Relations Supervisor (Eastern Indonesia) is responsible for executing Meratus Group's government relations strategy across Eastern Indonesia by maintaining productive relationships with regional government institutions, regulatory authorities, and port stakeholders. The role serves as the primary government liaison based in Surabaya, supporting business operations, facilitating government coordination, and ensuring effective communication between Meratus Group and government agencies. The position works closely with Business Unit Heads, Branch Managers, and operational teams to address government-related matters, support regulatory compliance, and coordinate local government engagement activities. This position will be placed in Surabaya. Key Responsibilities Government Stakeholder Management Develop and maintain strong working relationships with government agencies and regulators across Eastern Indonesia. Represent Meratus Group in meetings, forums, and discussions with local and regional government institutions. Build a positive corporate presence with government stakeholders to support business operations. Maintain regular communication with key government officials and regulatory authorities.. Government Liaison & Coordination Serve as the primary government relations representative for Meratus Group in Surabaya and Eastern Indonesia. Coordinate government-related activities with Branch Managers and Business Unit representatives. Facilitate communication between operational teams and government institutions. Assist branches in resolving government-related operational matters and administrative issues. Regulatory Monitoring Monitor regional government regulations, policies, and administrative requirements that may impact business operations. Report regulatory developments and potential business impacts to the Government Relations Senior Manager. Support implementation of new government regulations within the assigned region. Develop and maintain productive relationships with, including but not limited, to Ministries of Transportation : Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Port Authorities, Harbourmaster Offices, other relevant transportation agencies. Operational Support Coordinate with government agencies to facilitate permits, approvals, inspections, and operational clearances when required. Support business units during audits, inspections, or government visits. Assist in resolving operational issues involving government authorities. . Coordinate government protocol during official visits or corporate events. Reporting & Administration Prepare periodic reports on stakeholder engagement activities, meetings, and follow-up actions Maintain records of government correspondence, permits, and official communications. Track government issues requiring escalation to the Senior Manager. Prepare briefing materials and meeting summaries for management. Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Law, Political Science, International Relations, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related disciplines. Experience Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Government Relations, External Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, or Public Affairs.. Experience in the shipping, logistics, port, maritime, or transportation industries is highly preferred. Experience interacting with regional government agencies and regulators. Good understanding of Indonesian government structures and administrative processes.
