Description

The Canadian Dental Association (CDA) is seeking a Government Relations Strategist to join its Government Relations & Policy team for a full-time contract. The Government Relations Strategist reports directly to the Head of Government Relations & Policy and monitors legislative, regulatory developments, assesses their potential impact, and helps to develop advocacy strategies to influence public policy in alignment with organizational goals. This role involves building relationships with elected officials, civil servants, industry associations, and advocacy groups, as well as crafting persuasive communication materials such as policy briefs, position statements, and submissions.

Responsibilities

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE;

· to assist in developing and implementing advocacy activities and government relations strategies.
· to assist in drafting position papers, policy briefs, advocacy materials and other documents to support advocacy strategies and policy priorities.
· to coordinate and participate in meetings with officials.
· to organize the logistics of committee meetings and events related to the team.
· to monitor, evaluate, and provide updates on legislative, government activities and regulatory developments to identify relevance to dentistry.
· to assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with government officials, policymakers, and key stakeholders.
· to draft advocacy updates for the Board of Directors and members of CDA.
· to represent the organization in meetings, public forums, and industry associations.
