As the Government Relations student, you will work with teams throughout our organization to ensure that government relations deliverables are carried out successfully. You can contribute to the success of Canadian Natural’s operations as the position plays an important part in Canadian Natural’s efforts to engage and advocate on important regulatory and public policy issues.
- Term length: 4 months
- Term start: May 2025
- Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
- Shift schedule: 5 x 2 - 8 hours (Monday – Friday)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Review and research public policy, regulatory and legislative issues which may impact Canadian Natural’s operations
- Help identify and evaluate advocacy and engagement opportunities that fit within Canadian Natural’s government relations strategy
- Work with internal regulatory team to identify and highlight policy and regulatory initiatives which may impact Canadian Natural
- Develop materials to assist with advocacy and engagement
- Filing – updating and maintenance of Government Relations files
- Research – research and preparation of memo’s and other briefing notes detailing policy or other government regulation or legislation
- Support the team with preparing advocacy materials, including power-point presentations, spreadsheets, and word documents
- Manage team portfolios for vacation coverage
Responsibilities:
Students studying in the fields of Public Policy, Political Science or related disciplines.
