JOB OVERVIEW

The triage and coding of all clinical letters coming into our Practices, working as an additional member of our established and highly successful team

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in a similar role within Primary Care, with at least one year’s experience
  • Able to take on the responsibility and have the confidence for determining which documents can be completed without having to forward them to a Clinical Pharmacist
  • Work at pace so that, on average, 20 documents are coded, triaged and completed in an hour
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, working as an effective member of the team
  • Previous knowledge of EMIS Web and SystmOne
    Job Type: Part-time
    Pay: £10,000.00-£17,000.00 per year
    Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week

Responsibilities
  • The initial coding of incoming documents
  • Reading through the document, adding the correct codes to the patient record
  • Determining whether or not the letter should be forwarded to a Clinical Pharmacist or GP for actioning. The expectation is that, on average, out of 100 documents, approximately ten are sent to a Clinical Pharmacist and 5 to a GP, the remainder are filed and completed by the GP Assistant
  • Please note that the salary range quoted is based on a whole time equivalent annual salary of £25,000, and refers to 15 or 25 hours per week
