Description

We’re searching for a Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team at Sage Medical in West Footscray on a full-time basis (5 days). The right person would be someone who’s easy-going and has a warm personality.
We already have a fantastic admin team at Sage Medical, but we need another welcoming face to greet our patients. Our bright and modern practice is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, handy shops, a supermarket, and beautiful parks. There is also public transport that can arrive you right to our doorstep!

We are looking for someone:

  • who has a ‘can do’ attitude, is reliable, organised and prides themselves on their attention to detail, and has a relaxed nature. (We understand that working in GP Land can be serious at times, but we also like to laugh when we can.)
  • who is a team player.
  • who’s IT savvy. We don’t need you to be able to rewrite medical software code, just be comfortable using PCs and be able to troubleshoot. We use Best Practice as our Practice Medical Software and are happy to train those who may have used another PMS.
  • that has at least 1 years’ experience working as a Medical Receptionist. We’d like you to be able to step into the role knowing at least the basics, with us just having to explain to you our policies and procedures.
  • that is honest, trustworthy, and loyal.

At Sage Medical, you’ll be responsible for these key areas:
Greeting patients: This includes welcoming patients in person and over the phone, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Scheduling appointments: Handling new appointments, managing cancellations and rescheduling, so that the GPs schedule runs efficiently.
Administrative tasks: We would ask you to handle a variety of administrative tasks, such as managing medical records, processing payments, running reports, emailing, data entry and general office duties.
Communication: You would act as a communications director – This includes being the gatekeeper of the practice, but also relaying messages between patients, doctors, and our nurses.
The right person would be joining a relatively new (Jan ‘24) clinic that is still growing. We have a fantastic, diverse, and team-oriented group of staff and medical personnel who enjoy working at Sage Medical. We have regular staff meetings where you are encouraged to contribute. We also offer furthering your education, if that is something you wish to do. We hold social events (both with and without kids), have onsite car parking, bike racks and end-of-trip facilities should you want them. Each day, the clinic is closed for a 45-minute lunch break where the phones are turned off, no patients are seen, and the entire team have lunch in our private ‘staff only’ sunny kitchen and open area with a coffee machine. We feel that Sage Medical is a great place to work and hope that you would too.
