Bupa’s ADF Health Services are responsible for providing integrated and seamless end-to-end health services such as primary and occupational healthcare, dental, physiotherapy, mental health and psychology services, pharmacy, occupational rehabilitation, and health administration. We also support delivery of pathology, imaging and radiology, vocational rehabilitation, hospital, specialist, allied health, patient transport and other off base services enabled by Bupa systems. We support the delivery of health services to 85,000 Defence Force members and their families across more than 50 locations in Australia.
Richmond Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Richmond in west of Sydney and delivers a range of health services to Defence personnel. It’s a busy, vibrant, and unique clinical environment offering a variety of clinical challenges as well as leadership and continuous improvement opportunities..

WE’RE LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED GP TRAINER AVMO TO WORK FROM RICHMOND HEALTH CENTRE ON A PERMANENT PART TIME BASIS FOR 1 DAY A FORTNIGHT (MONDAY)

As a civilian GP within our Health Centre, you will:

  • Provide General Practice consultations, referrals and health screenings
  • Conduct occupational medical and health assessments for all defence personnel to determine employability and deployability
  • Provide appropriate medical advice to Base and Unit Commanders regarding employability and deployability of individual members
  • Provide advice and support to Base and Unit Commanders on general medical issues such as injury prevention, preventive medicine, disease control and hygiene
  • Provide supervision Medical Officers in accordance with FRACGP guidelines

This is an incredible role for GP keen to practice interesting and diverse medicine, or a GP with an interest and passion for occupational health and sports medicine. Overall, this is your opportunity to make a real contribution to the provision of health services to our defence force members while working in a supportive and collegiate team.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN AND BE ABLE TO ATTAIN AND MAINTAIN A BASELINE SECURITY CLEARANCE FROM THE DEFENCE SECURITY AND VETTING SERVICE.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Is a personable and passionate GP with a genuine commitment to delivering health outcomes for our defence member

You will also require:

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a medical practitioner in Australia with AHPRA
  • A Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational Registration
  • Accreditation as a General Practice Trainer at Principal/Lead Supervisor level or commitment to achieving his accreditation
