As a GP/Transfusion Medicine Specialist, you will be tasked with providing comprehensive primary medical care, whilst also handling the intricate needs associated with transfusions. Your knowledge will be critical in ensuring that blood products are managed and administered safely, playing a vital role in patient recovery and treatment outcomes. Responsibilities Provide high-quality primary care to a diverse patient population with various healthcare needs. Assess patients' transfusion requirements and recommend necessary blood products based on their clinical condition. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to establish and implement effective transfusion protocols. Educate patients and staff on transfusion practices, associated risks, and safety protocols. Monitor patient reactions to transfusions, ensuring prompt response to any adverse events. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and research in the field of transfusion medicine. Stay updated on advancements in medical practices related to both general healthcare and transfusion medicine. Medical degree with a valid license to practice as a General Practitioner. Specialization in Transfusion Medicine or related field is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in clinical settings, particularly in transfusion services or blood banking. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient engagement. Deep commitment to patient safety and high standards of care. A collaborative approach to working in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
