As a GP/Transfusion Medicine Specialist, you will provide primary care services while managing the transfusion needs of patients. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of blood product administration, working collaboratively with healthcare teams to uphold the highest standards of care. Responsibilities Deliver high-quality primary healthcare to a diverse patient population. Evaluate and assess patients’ transfusion needs, providing appropriate recommendations for blood product utilization. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and monitor transfusion protocols. Educate patients and medical staff about transfusion procedures, potential risks, and safety measures. Monitor patients throughout the transfusion process and manage any adverse reactions effectively. Engage in performance improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing transfusion medicine practices. Stay informed about the latest advancements in general medicine and transfusion science. Medical degree with a valid license to practice as a General Practitioner. Specialization in Transfusion Medicine or relevant training is highly preferred. Experience in clinical practice, particularly within transfusion services, is advantageous. Strong clinical skills and attention to detail in patient evaluations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster patient and team interactions. Commitment to high standards in patient safety and quality care. A collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
