Are you up for the challenge?About the Project The Linewide Alliance, comprising John Holland, Alstom, RATP Dev, KBR and WSP, are excited to be delivering the transformative Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East Linewide package. When SRL opens, the new rail services for passengers will also be delivered by, a venture between RATP Dev and John Holland to operate and maintain the franchise for 15 years from 2035, to be known as TransitLinx. The Alliance will deliver a world-class, service-proven driverless metro system that sets new benchmarks for comfort, safety, and reliability for Melbourne. SRL is a transport and urban planning project that will deliver world-class public transport, reduce travel times, and support the delivery of more homes and housing. About the Role Manage and co-ordinate a Ground Penetration Permit (GPP) system (or also referred to as an excavation permit system) for all works where ground is broken. This position is a project wide role which interfaces with each of the precincts’ teams All our employees have a key role in ensuring the success of LWA’s health, safety, environmental & quality management program and to fulfil this, each person must adopt the Projects core safety and environmental values.What you will do; • Prepare GPP documentation as required by precinct teams. This involves requesting Before You Dig Dial documents, GIS information. These documents will form the basis of the GPP process.• Co-ordinate and consult with asset owners to ensure all requirements are met and approvals obtained.• Communicate with Engineers to positively identify all known services in a nominated GPP work zone.• Positive identification of services shall be in accordance with the asset owners’ requirements.• Co-ordinate with Engineers to ensure they pick up services once they are positively identified and add to the GIS model.• Include site briefings with all work force for specific task in the nominated area that the GPP permit applies.• Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project.• In the event of a service strike, participate in the incident reporting and root cause analyse with the safety team.• Sign off on Hold Points in the GPP process.• Identify and record any unknown/redundant services and notify relevant asset owner.• Participate in GPP system audits as required.• Ensure legislative, client minimum conditions for underground services, pre-contract and commercial obligations are met, including compliance with the relevant Building Code.• Stakeholder management: Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the project and the client, subcontractors, community, and other external parties are developed and maintained.• People management: Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of project teams and subcontractors to achieve outcomes.• Perform all duties in accordance with LWA policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures.• Establish positive working relationships with personnel and raise awareness of safety risks.• Review specific high risk planned works to be undertaken to ensure compliance with a method of work.• Collaborate with project precincts to develop solutions to improve safety performance, process productivity and to monitor permit effectiveness. What we are looking for; Qualification: Tertiary qualifications Construction / Safety / Engineering Discipline. Diploma of Project Management in Engineering, Science, Building, Construction or equivalent. Chartered Engineering Status. Experience: • Demonstrated site based engineering experience on a major project.• Project Engineer and operational experience – especially with managing services.• Project wide level of planning, development and review of complex projects.• Delivery of minor projects to program and budget specifications.• Effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource management. • Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages; Microsoft Suite; Primavera 6.• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.• Ability to work under pressure in a complex environment.• Competency in interpreting technical schedules and documentation.As part of the team, you can help us transform lives Your success is reflected in ours, so we’re committed to being an employer of choice.
