Job Description: Part Time (8 hours), Permanent Fitzroy location Challenging and rewarding work environment About the Role An opportunity is available for a Grade 3 Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy Department at St Vincent’s Hospital, Fitzroy. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality physiotherapy services within the Neuromuscular Clinic, supporting patients with a broad range of neuromuscular conditions including spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD), myotonic dystrophy, myositis and more. In addition to clinical responsibilities, this role includes providing leadership within the department and the subacute team, contributing to quality improvement activities, and participating in research initiatives. The position also involves supervision of junior physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants, and undertaking other delegated duties as required. Applicants must hold, or be eligible for, National Physiotherapist Registration. Classifications for this position will range from VB7 - VC1 ($104,135.20 - $118,981.20 per annum, pro rata for part time). Duties include Provide disease specific assessment and clinical managementof patients with neuromuscular conditions Facilitate community referrals and support application for funding schemes (NDIS/HCP) as needed Education to community therapists as needed to help guide clinical management of complex presentations Provide leadership and co-ordination of the rehabilitation team as required Supervision and management of the clinical education program for undergraduate students as required Provide a tertiary level of consultancy as required Involvement in multidisciplinary meetings and planning as required Lead research and/or quality improvement activities in the neuromuscular space Your contribution Minimum seven years of post-graduate experience Post-graduate qualification in relevant area of physiotherapy (or working towards) would be highly regarded Broad experience in and knowledge of physiotherapy management in neuromuscular conditions or neurological conditions Demonstrated leadership skills and extensive experience in the supervision and professional development of physiotherapists, students and support staff.
