Salary Range:

The role of the English Learner (EL) Learning Facilitator is to provide instruction and oversight for students as they complete academic work in a computer lab or classroom setting. The EL Learning Facilitator serves as the liaison between the highly qualified digital teacher and the students, supervising student progress and behavior. This position requires open and ongoing communication with the partnership support staff, software system knowledge in order to be able to respond to student questions; and the ability to observe and control student behavior when in lab setting, in accordance with approved policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must meet Highly Qualified requirements by:
  • High School Diploma/GED AND an Associate’s Degree or higher OR
  • Successful completion of 60 semester hours of college credit OR
  • Obtain a passing score on one of the ADE approved assessments:
  • ETS ParaPro Assessment (Praxis)
  • ACT Workkeys
  • Master Teacher’s ParaEducator PD Now!
  • One (1) or more years of experience working with students, preferred.

Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

TRAVEL:

Travel is required between two campuses daily. Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, trainings and/or conferences. Locations may vary and may require overnight stays.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct academic support to students through one-on-one and small group instruction
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and reinforcing instructional material
  • Supervise students during non-classroom activities such as lunch, recess, and transitions between classes
  • Take daily attendance and track student participation
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and structured learning environment
  • Assist students with organization, time management, and staying on task with assignments
  • Provide intervention and remediation to students needing extra academic support
  • Help prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom activities
  • Monitor student behavior and reinforce school-wide expectations
  • Assist with assessments by proctoring exams or preparing testing materials
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and families regarding academic progress and classroom behavior
  • Encourage and motivate students to stay engaged in learning
  • Respond to problem behaviors according to the student’s positive behavior intervention plan and network crisis intervention policy
  • Assist in the collection of data on academic and behavior goals as instructed
  • Perform general clerical tasks to support the teacher in the maintenance of student files and to provide classroom materials
  • Support students in developing social-emotional skills and positive peer interactions
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining classroom technology or instructional tools, as needed
  • Participate in professional development and training sessions to enhance instructional support skills
  • Provide supervision and ensure student safety during arrival, dismissal, and school events
  • Regular and on-time attendance required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration.
