  • Support the day-to-day Finance function, including data entry, maintaining financial records and responding to internal and external enquiries
  • Assist with month-end activities, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and preparation of supporting information
  • Assist with general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies with support from the Finance team
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial and management reports and supporting schedules
  • Provide assistance with payroll processing, reconciliations and administration as required
  • Assist with project costing, cost allocation and financial information to support project and operational reporting
  • Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of information required for BAS, Fuel Tax Credits, Payroll Tax, TPAR, FBT and other statutory obligations
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of finance processes, procedures and systems
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance team and wider business, progressively building your knowledge and taking on additional responsibilities as your experience develops

About you

  • A completed or near-completed qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline, or relevant finance experience
  • Some previous experience in an accounts, finance or administration environment would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel and an ability to learn new systems
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities

Benefits

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Attractive salary package commensurate with experience
  • Mackay-based, Monday to Friday role
  • Broad, hands-on exposure across the Finance function
  • Opportunity to learn from and work alongside experienced finance professionals
  • Career development and growth opportunities
  • Opportunity to progressively take on greater responsibility as your skills develop
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment
  • A business committed to workplace safety, employee wellbeing and equal opportunity
