Reporting to the Assistant Director of Graduate and Professional Admissions, and as a member of the Graduate and Professional Admissions (GP) Outreach team, the Graduate and Professional Admissions Specialist is responsible for the following job responsibilities:
Serves as a resource to GP and Buckeye Link staff to resolve admissions cases involving application and new student enrollment questions.
Meets with students via virtual and in-person appointments and responds to student inquiries via email and phone.
Uses a Peoplesoft Student information database to look up applicant information and provides status updates to applicants, admits and matriculants.
Ensures effective intake of students.
Conducts recruitment outreach via phone and email using a Salesforce CRM.
Acquires and maintains current knowledge of Ohio State Graduate and Professional program offerings and application policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations, as well as admissions policies and procedures pertaining to international applicants, including SEVIS requirements and distinctions among international visa types.
Interfaces with programs and processing units.
Conducts large and small-group presentations and webinars regarding the admission process. Travels to represent GP at recruiting events and programs, both locally and nationally.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Excellent customer service, communication, and presentation skills. Experience with office technology, such as Microsoft Office applications. Ability to track and resolve problems.
