About the Role: The Graduate Assistant for Women's Soccer plays a pivotal role in supporting the coaching staff and contributing to the overall success of the women's soccer program within an educational institution. This position involves assisting with daily team operations, including practice planning, player development, and game preparation, while fostering a positive and competitive team environment. The Graduate Assistant will also engage in administrative duties such as coordinating travel, managing equipment, and maintaining compliance with institutional and athletic regulations. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in collegiate athletics, combining practical coaching responsibilities with academic pursuits. Ultimately, the Graduate Assistant will help enhance the student-athlete experience and contribute to the program’s competitive achievements and reputation. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. * Acceptance into a graduate program at the employing institution. * Demonstrated experience playing or coaching soccer at the collegiate or competitive youth level. * Strong organizational and communication skills. * Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience as a graduate assistant or coaching intern in collegiate athletics. * Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. * Experience with video analysis software and statistical tracking tools. * Background in sports psychology or athlete development. * Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities. Responsibilities: * Assist the head coach and coaching staff in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions. * Support player development through individual skill training, video analysis, and performance feedback. * Coordinate logistics for team travel, equipment management, and scheduling of games and events. * Help maintain compliance with NCAA and institutional rules and regulations related to student-athlete eligibility and conduct. * Contribute to recruiting efforts by evaluating prospective student-athletes and assisting with communication and campus visits. * Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, statistical analysis, and preparation of reports. * Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes academic success, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Skills: The required skills such as strong organizational and communication abilities are essential for managing the multifaceted responsibilities of this role, including coordinating practices, travel, and compliance documentation. Soccer-specific knowledge and coaching experience enable the Graduate Assistant to effectively support player development and contribute to strategic game planning.
