As a Graduate Civil Structural Engineer based in the Nelson office and working with our Transportation Team, you will contribute to designs, calculations, technical reporting, construction monitoring, and advice for our clients around the region and nationally. Some of the existing projects this team is involved in include new or existing bridges and other structures, retaining walls, bridge inspections, bridge repairs and new roading or water structures. Typical tasks for these projects could include: Complete structural element designs - this could be concrete, steel or timber Assist and complete site inspections with other structural engineers Liaise and assist geotechnical engineers to understand their ground investigation requirements and results Contribute to reports, specifications, and drawings. Structural modelling, typically in Microstran, SAP2000 and ETABs Sketching details, by hand, or on the computer to assist in generating drawing packages Additionally, you will have opportunities to support other disciplines within the Stantec Nelson Team, which could include water, structural, geotechnical and community development. Collaboration across disciplines is encouraged on various projects Your Role: Work across the entire project lifecycle, from concept to design and construction monitoring (onsite).
