Do you want to begin a career in communications? Are you a graduate of the University of Portsmouth? We have a great entry-level opportunity for a recent University of Portsmouth graduate in our Marketing, Recruitment and Communications department.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Communications Assistant to work in the Corporate Communications & PR Team on an 18-month, fixed-term contract. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience across Media/PR and Internal Communications including digital content and some social media.
Working in a busy and dedicated team you’ll help with the development of a range of internal and external facing content from conception through to publication and performance tracking.
We are looking for someone who has great writing and content creation skills and can tailor their content to different audiences. You also need to have excellent inter-personal skills and a passion for communications. The role involves working with stakeholders across the University and dealing with enquiries, so you’ll need to be able to demonstrate excellent customer service. We’re a busy team and being comfortable with managing multiple tasks is important. This role will require some working outside of core hours on evenings and weekends to support University events for which notice will be provided.
This appointment is a fixed-term contract until 30 April 2027. We may be able to support part time hours with a minimum on 30 hours a week. Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role.
The interviews are currently anticipated to be held on 16 September 2025.
