Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Graduate Developer, you’ll be part of the Digital Solutions Team, which is responsible for supporting and developing key business applications such as the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), timetabling systems and student records.
You will report to the Business Applications and Systems Development Manager, who will provide guidance and mentoring to support your transition from university into a professional IT environment. You will work alongside experienced colleagues across the department and gain valuable exposure to full system lifecycles, from initial design through to ongoing maintenance.
This is a hands-on role with a mix of development and support work, offering an excellent foundation for a career in software development.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development, support, and maintenance of internal applications and system integrations.
  • Help investigate and resolve issues raised by staff and students via email, phone, or remote access tools.
  • Work alongside developers and wider IT teams to deliver effective solutions.
  • Learn to manage the full lifecycle of systems, from planning and design through to testing and implementation.
  • Contribute to documentation, testing, and quality assurance processes.
