The Opportunity Ulteig, and its affiliated companies, are hiring talented and motivated candidates for a Graduate Civil Engineer supporting renewable development projects. The Graduate Civil Engineer will be responsible for performing routine engineering tasks, and investigations or observations under supervision on wind and solar renewable energy projects across the country. Candidates should be self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must also be able to work in a team environment. We are looking for candidates who are committed to client satisfaction, adhere strictly to client-driven standards, schedules, and budgets, and are passionate about the renewable energy industry. **Please note that resumes must be submitted in English for the application to be considered** What You’ll Do * Assist in the development of construction plans and specifications of utility scale wind, solar and/or Battery storage (BESS) renewable projects. * Assisting in the preparation of structural designs and drawings for solar foundations and support structures. * Conducts project specification research to determine applicable building codes and ensure specific project requirements are addressed in the design. * Works closely with other engineering technicians and experienced engineers on multiple projects as assigned. * Complete typical civil design tasks include design calculation reports, grading and erosion control plans, construction details, and stormwater management design. * Design and production in AutoCAD Civil 3D software * Prepare project quantity take-offs for civil design of renewable energy projects * Support and develop project permit applications * Technically involved with the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigation or observations. * Complete work as assigned by project discipline leads, including performing necessary design calculations, drafting reports, and design plan preparation. * Provide technical comparisons and similar technical work within the assigned market. * Additional duties may include tasks beyond what is listed, such as special projects, assisting colleagues, or new initiatives. A willingness to adapt to changing priorities and support team efforts enhances collaboration and growth opportunities. What We Expect from You * A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent is required. * Prior engineering internship experience preferred. * Ability to apply standard engineering principles and practices. * Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). * Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD experience desired. * Ability to work in a hybrid mode schedule; 3 days in the office, 2 days from home. * Must possess strong verbal and written English communication skills (CEFR level B2–C1). You should be comfortable articulating complex ideas and collaborating effectively within a global professional environment. * Must have authorization to work legally in Costa Rica for any employer.
