WHAT’S ON OFFER:

Whilst focused on Feedlot operations, this program can be tailored to suit your interest and extend to include exposure to other parts of the beef supply chain such as genetics, breeding, commodities buying, livestock buying, broad acre farming and even meat processing. Based at two of our largest feedlots and l earning from some of industry’s best, you’ll gain in-depth insights into a variety of cattle feeding programs from short fed supermarket, mid fed Angus through to long fed Wagyu cattle at either location:

  • Opal Creek, near Cecil Plains is conveniently located in the Darling Downs region, west of Toowoomba carries 30,000 head and is one of Australia’s most modern facilities, having undergone significant expansion, upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
  • Brindley Park is located in close proximity to the agricultural hub of Roma, running 20,000 head of cattle with approved plans for expansion.

The two-year program involves rotations in each of these key feedlot areas, providing you with first hand, practical experience and a thorough working knowledge of livestock, animal nutrition, maintenance and administration operations within our feedlot. Upon successful completion you’ll have an a well-rounded understanding of the daily running of a large scale, commercial feedlot and be well positioned to progress into a front-line management position when the opportunity presents.
