WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR – GRADUATE GEOGRAPHY TEACHING ASSISTANT

We are seeking an engaging and committed individual who offers:

  • A strong academic background with a degree in Geography or a closely related subject (e.g. Environmental Science, Geology, Urban Studies)
  • A real enthusiasm for teaching and supporting young learners
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, resilient attitude with the ability to build positive relationships with students
  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential
Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll support both students and teachers by:

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group academic mentoring focused on Geography curriculum content
  • Assisting in lesson planning, resource creation, and classroom delivery
  • Helping students improve their geographical knowledge, data interpretation, and exam preparation skills
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting support strategies accordingly
  • Creating a classroom culture that encourages discussion, inquiry, and critical thinking
