We are seeking a Graduate Apprentice to be assigned to one of the infrastructure and operations teams.
The Graduate Apprentice will play a key role in supporting the IDG Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) department at the University of Warwick, providing technical assistance, infrastructure support, and contributing to various IT projects. This apprenticeship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while developing essential skills in cloud and network management. The role involves collaborating with team members to troubleshoot technical issues, assist with infrastructure improvements, and ensure seamless delivery of IT services across the University. The Graduate Apprentice will be expected to participate in training and development, with a focus on becoming a highly skilled IT professional in a dynamic higher education environment.

The decision as to what level of study will be undertaken, and the topic to be studied, will be determined by the post holder’s previous study and work attainment experiences, and also, the I&O team that the post holder will be appointed into.

As part of IDG, I&O is responsible for ensuring the delivery of reliable, performant, and efficient technology and services to underpin the University’s strategic outcomes for teaching, research and administration. This includes the development and maintenance of IT systems, networks and hardware ensuring they are performant to agreed SLAs and delivering high availability.
I&O also develops and implements IT infrastructure and operations strategies for the University, aligning them with objectives and industry best practices. They oversee the University’s IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient and secure operations, while managing relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to meet agreed-upon agreements.
