JOB BRIEF
Sierra CP are looking for engineering graduates (or comparable qualifications) who are keen to learn and develop their engineering and software development and automation skills, working within a wide variety of engineering environments, products and systems. Sierra CP will provide a structured training program to develop candidates skillsets so they can become well rounded engineers. Engineers will work closely with Design, Commissioning and Sales departments to derive automation/custom software specifications, which they will then develop and test.
Candidates are expected to have a strong engineering (electrical/control systems) background and Windows based coding experience (ideally C# or Visual Basic), allowing development of new code, and modification of existing code for bespoke customer applications and core products. Some hands on electrical experience may also be required.

· Logical thinking, self-driven, proactive individual with good time management and communication skills (written and verbal)
· Good understanding of C# and Visual Studio (experience with other languages also considered)
· Ideally suited to a joint electrical and mechanical/robotic/Mechatronics/Automation engineering degree
· Happy to occasionally work at customer sites as necessary; this could include overseas travel

· Developing and supporting core product software and giving input into hardware design
· Interfacing to 3rd party equipment for integration within the CADET environment, using C# language.
· Experience working with of protocols such as Ethernet, Serial, Ethercat, CAN, Profibus, AK protocol (over Ethernet/Serial) is useful
· Developing automation sequences and tests using standard CADET editor tools
· Analysing engineering systems to advise the best methods of automation
· Analysing post test diagnostics logs to advise fault rectifications (software, electrical and mechanical) within complex engineering systems
· Work with design engineers to advise on requirements of new systems
· Work with Commissioning engineers and project/site managers to achieve sign off from the customer.
· Source code management via SourceTree, BitBucket and Jira
· Documenting solutions and producing software manuals
