Description:

A talented and self-motivated Graduate/Junior Software Engineer, is required by an ambitious, high-growth SME, specialising in delivering Digital Solutions for Rail. This is a great opportunity for a Graduate or someone early in their career to join this passionate and supportive team of developers and make a real difference. Working with with the latest technologies you’ll gain valuable experience across a range of innovation and digital transformation initiatives that are transforming the safety and efficiency of our Railways.
Candidates MUST be UK based as, whilst the role is largely remote, there is a requirement to get together nominally 1 day/week (Wednesday) in our Lichfield, Staffs office to collaborate on projects and support client visits as required.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Have some understanding of RESTful API’s and backend architecture
  • Use of client-side technologies such as: JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Understanding or experience in using JavaScript frameworks such as React.js, Angular, Vue.js and Next.js
  • Have some experience or being able to show there learning in C# Web Application development in ASP.NET Core
  • A logical approach to identifying and solving problems as well as a strong ability to collaborate and communicate with others.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside and be mentored by our small but highly skilled software development team.
  • Use the ASP.NET Core framework designing and developing web API applications.
  • Develop aspects of front-end web applications with the use of React and Typescript.
  • Use object-oriented languages such as C#.
  • Develop, test and implement effective software applications, providing future maintenance and support.
  • Develop an understanding of business processes and working towards the organisations goals.
  • Assist the team with new applications and upcoming projects.
  • Deliver assigned tasks to agreed timescales.
  • Work with NoSQL database technologies.
  • Produce engaging and modern web applications using ASP.NET Core, React, GraphQL and other cutting edge technology.
  • Follow software development best practices.
