Working within the legal team, you will be involved in the independent contractor compliance evaluations, providing advice and guidance to our client base primarily on the Off-Payroll Working Rules in the UK, commonly known as IR35.
As Brookson Legal is part of the global People 2.0 company part of this role may include independent contractor compliance in jurisdictions outside the UK
Internally, the job title for this role is Contractor Status Advisor.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to manage own workload within designated timescales;
  • Competent in the use of spreadsheets, databases, word documents and outlook email.
  • Competent in communicating with clients via email, phone or in person.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (ideally in Law)
  • Experience in providing services in a law firm in either Employment or Company/Commercial law;
  • Experience in document administration and compliance.
  • Experience of dealing with clients over the telephone and by email.
  • Experience in other professional service setting.
  • Experience with Vendor Management Systems (VMS)
Responsibilities
  • Manage client relationships, provide advice on instructed matters, and ensure compliance with AML, KYC, and conflict check requirements.
  • Evaluate independent contractors’ tax status and handle compliance duties.
  • Send relevant letters and terms of business to clients promptly.
  • Respond promptly and provide tailored, accurate advice via email and phone.
  • Participate in client meetings and conduct training sessions.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and ensure accuracy in all systems used.
  • Manage client payments and chase overdue payments as necessary.
