Job Title: Graduate - Metallurgical Engineer Division: Weir Minerals HBF Location: Port Elizabeth Onsite Purpose of Role: To support metallurgical operations within the foundry by assisting in analysis, process optimization, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role provides exposure to casting and heat treatment processes and fosters collaboration across engineering and production teams to ensure product integrity and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities Support metallurgical analysis and process optimization in foundry environments. Assist in quality control and material testing. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in casting and heat treatment processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product integrity and compliance. Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Physical Metallurgy Degree. University results – C average (60%) or higher. Basic understanding of casting, heat treatment, and metallurgical testing methods, foundry experience is advantageous. Ability to educate shopfloor employees in an understandable format about the metallurgy concepts and to create and update standard operating procedures (SOP).
