Join a Dynamic Leadership Team at Old Dominion University as Graduate Program Director for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Old Dominion University (ODU) invites visionary leaders to apply for the position of Graduate Program Director for our accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. This is a full-time, 10-month faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor (tenured/tenure-track) or Clinical Associate Professor, depending on qualifications and scholarly achievements. The DPT program resides within a thriving academic environment, the School of Rehabilitation Sciences in the Ellmer College of Health Sciences, and graduates approximately 48 students annually. Our faculty includes 11 dedicated full-time core members, supported by an inclusive, collaborative academic environment that values interprofessional education, and research excellence. Faculty in the DPT program also contribute to advising and instruction in the College’s PhD program in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation.
The Program Director plays a pivotal role in the academic life of the DPT program while maintaining a teaching and scholarship portfolio aligned with their areas of expertise, passion, and our curriculum needs. Responsibilities also include mentoring students, contributing to program and university service, and engaging in ongoing professional development. We are seeking an inspirational and forward-thinking leader who demonstrates collaborative leadership, strategic clarity, and inspires innovation and growth of our successful program.
Located in Norfolk, Virginia, Old Dominion University is a research-intensive, public institution with a strong commitment to community engagement, innovation, and academic excellence. You’ll join a university that values integrity, creativity, inclusivity, and excellence and a DPT program that is poised for its next phase of growth, impact, and innovation. We are committed to faculty success, mentorship, and mission-driven education that prepares graduates to lead and transform the field of physical therapy.
