We’re recruiting for a hybrid role that combines the responsibilities of a SEND Teaching Assistant and a Cover Supervisor, within a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the M20 area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact while developing skills across both support and classroom management.
The Opportunity :
Hybrid SEND Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor
Location: M20 Area, Greater Manchester
Full-time | Term-Time Only | September 2025 Start
Salary: £480 per week
About the Role:
In this dual-capacity role, you’ll support students with SEND (including ASC, ADHD, SEMH ) and step into the classroom to lead pre planned lessons when teaching staff are absent. Your days will be varied, and your adaptability and enthusiasm will make a difference where it’s needed most.

As a SEND TA, you will:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with EHCPs or additional learning needs.
  • Assist in delivering differentiated lessons that meet individual student targets.
  • Promote emotional regulation and wellbeing using trauma-informed approaches.
  • Support pupils both in and out of the classroom setting.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across subjects during teacher absence.
  • Manage behaviour effectively and maintain a purposeful learning environment.
  • Ensure work is completed and report back to relevant staff after lessons.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour positively.
  • Strong communicator, calm under pressure, and highly adaptable.
  • Interested in a future career in teaching, psychology, or pastoral support.
  • Holds a driving license (desirable but not essential).
