Description

We are looking for exceptional graduate software engineers that are passionate and excited about tackling complex engineering challenges while creating elegant, scalable, maintainable code to deliver a compelling user experience. We believe that being a kind person who elevates the rest of the team is just as valuable as writing great code.

You'll be architecting, designing and developing software with the right tools in a friendly switched on team. Depending on your skills you'll be working on the front–end, back–end, API, web and mobile parts of our platform. We use some of the latest development methodologies, architectures and platforms with a focus on quality and automation.

Requirements

The right candidate needs to be disciplined, creative, self–driven, a strong self-starter, well organised, have excellent communication/collaboration skills, be able to work in a high achieving team, have great academic results, a strong business acumen and have a real passion for technology.

Mandatory

• Due to the security nature of our work you must be an Australian citizen and be willing to undergo security checks
• You must have completed a minimum undergraduate Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline to this role e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems.

The Role

As a Graduate Software Developer, you will have the opportunity to kick-start your career by working alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, test, and support software solutions that make a real impact for our customers. You'll gain hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle while contributing to meaningful projects and building your technical skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about technology, enjoys solving problems, and is eager to learn. You'll receive mentoring, exposure to modern development practices and technologies, and opportunities to grow your knowledge while helping deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of AZZO’s EnergyX platform, supporting applications across energy monitoring, battery energy storage systems (BESS), virtual power plants (VPP), EV charging and industrial IoT.
• Support the development of software solutions by analysing information needs, systems flows, data usage, business processes, and problem areas.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve existing codebases, ensuring adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, product, and management teams to deliver technical solutions and achieve project objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or a related discipline;
• Experience developing, maintaining, and supporting software through university projects, internships, open-source contributions.
• Knowledge of programming language & Frameworks – C# / .NET, Python, JavaScript/Typescript
• Exposure to Azure Cloud Platform
• Strong AI fluency, actively using AI tools in your development workflow (beyond basic prompting.

Desirable

• Comfortable with prompt design, context engineering, and guardrail strategies for dependable agent behaviour
• Experience with Infrastructure as code tools and practices
• Experience with API development, OAuth 2.0 Authentication
• Experience with Observability

Further Details

This role may require occasional work outside of standard business hours to provide support to our global customer base, including US-based customers.
