Description

The Graduate Studies and Professional Programs Program Officer (Program Officer) provides admissions, student advising services, and operational support for the UCLA School of Law’s Master of Legal Studies (M.L.S.) and Executive Education (Exec Ed) programs to ensure an effective and smooth operation of both programs. Responsibilities include outreach to prospective students and participants about the MLS and Exec Ed program; advising prospective students/participants about admissions and enrollment requirements; advising current students of program requirements, policies, processes, and deadlines; responding to routine questions about the MLS and Exec Ed programs; administering MCLE credits for Exec Ed; and coordinating and executing small and medium-sized events to promote the programs operational activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Equivalent experience/training (Required)
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to make connections, work creatively, and act diplomatically with students, faculty, staff, and administrators in a high-volume, time-sensitive work environment. (Required)
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and with limited direct supervision. (Required)
  • Highly effective oral communication skills and ability to present information in a manner that is appropriate for an academic environment. (Required)
  • Excellent writing skills to draft correspondence, memos, reports, promotional materials, and informational documents that are clear, logical, and concise. (Required)
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment as a part of growing programs. (Required)
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to think creatively to solve problems and develop solutions. (Required)
  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population including Faculty, Staff, Students and members of the public. (Required)
  • Knowledge of University processes & procedures. Prior experience advising students. (Preferred)

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & PERSONAL AFFILIATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience (Required)
