DOF Subsea Canada is currently seeking a detailed oriented and client focused individual for the position of Graduate Surveyor. A key to success for this position is the ability to collaborate with offshore and onshore personnel. The Graduate Surveyor will report to the Project Manager. We are looking to expand our survey team to support ongoing long-term multi-year international and local projects. Expected 4 to 6 week rotation.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post Secondary Education in Hydrographic Survey or Geomatics degree or similar education
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite - Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Document Control Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Be aware and assist in the survey standards during offshore operations, including setting up and operating the survey equipment, logging, QC, and backing up of data
  • Assisting the Senior Surveyor or Party Chief instructions and being supervised during a shift
  • Set-up and test the online navigation and data logging systems under supervision
  • Instructed in the calibration process of survey sensors
  • Supervised to run the daily operation of on-line systems
  • Instructed in the quality control of positioning systems/ sensors and logged data as well as the maintenance of survey quality records (including daily logbook)
  • Perform work in accordance with company and project policies & procedures
  • Instructed in operational activities and shown what logged data meets acceptance criteria
  • Be aware of emergency procedures and drills
